Short version: Contraction Timer Pippy stores your timing data only on your device. We don't have servers, accounts, or any way to see what you log. Uninstall the app and it's gone.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the mobile app Contraction Timer Pippy ("the app"). The app is part of the Pippy family, operated by the same team behind the Pippy baby tracker at meetpippy.com. The Pippy baby tracker has its own privacy policy at meetpippy.com/privacy.html.
What the app collects
Nothing that leaves your device. The app saves the following on your phone using the operating system's local storage:
- Each contraction you time (start time, end time)
- Your preferences (which rule you picked, whether haptics are on, whether keep-screen-awake is on)
That's the complete list. No name, no email, no account, no device identifier, no location, no contacts, no photos.
What we don't do
- We don't have servers that receive your data.
- We don't use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry of any kind.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't track you across apps or websites.
- We don't sell, share, or rent your data, because we don't have it.
Sharing your log with someone
The app has a share button that builds a short plain-text summary of your last hour (e.g., "Last hour: 8 contractions. Avg length 52s. Avg 4m 30s apart.") and hands it to your phone's share sheet. When you pick Messages, WhatsApp, or email, your phone sends it through that app. We never see it.
Your local data
You can clear all timed contractions from within the app in Settings. Uninstalling the app also removes the local data. We cannot restore data from an uninstalled app, because we never had a copy.
Children
The app is designed for adults tracking their own or a partner's labor. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because we do not collect information at all.
Medical disclaimer
Contraction Timer Pippy is a general-purpose timer and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or make medical recommendations. If anything feels off, please contact your healthcare provider, midwife, or hospital. Your provider is the only one who can tell you when it's time to go in.
Changes to this policy
If we ever start collecting something (we don't plan to), we'll update this page and announce it in the app before the change takes effect.
