Common questions

Why did my contraction log disappear?

Pippy stores everything locally on your phone. Uninstalling the app, clearing app data, or moving to a new device removes the log, since we don't have a cloud copy. This is by design, it's what keeps the app free and private.

When does the 5-1-1 nudge appear?

When the last several contractions in the hour fit the pattern (about 5 minutes apart, about a minute long). Pippy is gentle and never tells you it's time to go to the hospital. That's a conversation between you and your provider.

I tapped by mistake. Can I fix it?

Yes. Long-press any row in the log to remove it. An undo toast appears for six seconds if you change your mind. You can also clear everything in Settings.

Is Pippy a medical device?

No. Pippy is a general-purpose timer. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or tell you when to go in. For anything medical, talk to your provider.

How do I delete my data?

In the app: open Settings and tap "Clear all contractions." Or delete the app. Either removes everything. We've never had a copy.

Does Pippy work without internet?

Yes. After the first download, the app works fully offline. The only thing that touches the network is a silent check for app updates on launch.
